Nessco Group use Metrodata Wan in the Can (WC.X21) to aid Scottish Careers Office

Metrodata's WC X.21 Ethernet 10/100 LAN over X.21 Extender was used to bridge a BT & Thus circuit, with a Panasonic VOIP switch to 15 remote VOIP handsets, across 2 buildings over 500m apart.

"I was delighted with the speed of delivery, and the quality of pre-sales technical support I received from Metrodata. Installation took less than 1 hour, and the devices worked straight from the box, with little on-site configuration."
- Lee Lambourne - Engineering Manager - Nessco Ltd

US Weather program use Metrodata Converters

The collection of data from weather cameras at strategic points help the FAA to provide up to date information for pilots and airfields. Recently the Metrodata Ethernet to Serial data converter has been used to link the camera towers to the data collection points.

The LH1000 has a HSSI (High speed serial port) for data rates up to 110Mbps and a lower speed serial port with RS232, X.21, EIA530 and V.35 interface options. One LH1000 unit is used at each end of the serial link to provide efficient extension of Ethernet traffic.

View the product information page for further details relating to the LH1000 Ethernet over serial extender.

John Radcliffe Hospital use Metrodata FC-Gig E Converter

In order to deliver high resolution digital imaging between the John Radcliffe Hospital and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre NHS Trust in Oxford, a line of site connection of 1 mile has been established and Metrodata's  FC-GigE 1000Base-SX to 1000Base-LX fibre converter was used to connect the switch to the transceiver equipment where Multimode (850nm) to Singlemode (1300nm) conversion was required.

Fibre connection used for NHS N3 LGS (Local gateway Service)

By using the N3 Local Gateway Service (a service  which provides an interface between a local telephone switch and the N3 Voice Services Central platform) the Royal Brompton Hospital and The Whittington Hospital London needed to connect the LGS router to their PBX over a short distance of internal multimode fibre, unfortunately neither device offered fibre connectivity. This is where Metrodata were able to step in and offer a solution with our popular range of Fibre Converters. The FC1000 fibre converter used by both Hospitals offers electrical (E1 RJ45/BNC) to multimode fibre conversion and provided the correct interface conversion required to connect the LGS router to their PBX.

Metrodata's FC1X00 fibre converter range offers electrical (RJ45/BNC) to fibre using SC connectors (ST connectors optional) allowing the transportation of voice and data over the link, they offer easy installation and can be mounted in a rack or on a desk. With three versions of fibre converters available, Metrodata cover Multimode fibre (FC1000), singlemode shorthaul (FC1100) and singlemode longhaul (FC1200).

Please contact Metrodata if you require more information on our range of Fibre Converters.
