By using the N3 Local Gateway Service (a service  which provides an interface between a local telephone switch and the N3 Voice Services Central platform) the Royal Brompton Hospital and The Whittington Hospital London needed to connect the LGS router to their PBX over a short distance of internal multimode fibre, unfortunately neither device offered fibre connectivity. This is where Metrodata were able to step in and offer a solution with our popular range of Fibre Converters. The FC1000 fibre converter used by both Hospitals offers electrical (E1 RJ45/BNC) to multimode fibre conversion and provided the correct interface conversion required to connect the LGS router to their PBX. 

Metrodata's FC1X00 fibre converter range offers electrical (RJ45/BNC) to fibre using SC connectors (ST connectors optional) allowing the transportation of voice and data over the link, they offer easy installation and can be mounted in a rack or on a desk. With three versions of fibre converters available, Metrodata cover Multimode fibre (FC1000), singlemode shorthaul (FC1100) and singlemode longhaul (FC1200).
