Oi (formerly known as Telemar) is the largest landline carrier in Brazil. Metrodata have provided carrier class Access gateways (Metrodata's AP Access Processor range) to Telemar since 2004 and has now won a contract to provide training to Oi's network engineers.

The training will cover full technical and application information that will assist its future use and support this major carrier's infrastructure. The Access Processor range offers three chassis versions that can hold a selection of modules providing a multi-standard convergence platform allowing the integration of multiple disparate services over a common infrastructure. North American and European terrestrial telecoms and datacoms services are supported, as well as common serial, satellite and broadcast interfaces.
