As a designer and manufacturer of data interface products Metrodata is always looking to provide connectivity solutions to solve customer interoperability issues. Presented with this challenge, Metrodata along with its major UK partner has developed a product to connect one of the latest Type 1 Encryptors to LAN and Satellite communication equipment. 

The close relationship between Metrodata and its partner allowed the project to run successfully providing a HSSI and LVDS (low-voltage differential signaling) interface connection at data rates of up to 50Mbps. The final production unit was a enhanced version of Metrodata's commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) BC1000 and BC1100 series of converters to be deployed in a mobile military network. Using a COTS product offers the benefits of using the latest technology, quick delivery and price advantages over a custom MIL specification solution.
