The APX CBR Interface Modules are members of the APX Universal Interface Module range. The APX CBR Modules enable connection to non ATM services, for example a PBX. The CBR module range covers all standard data rates and are standards compliant.
The APX CBR Modules provide multiple, unstructured interface ports. The CBR Modules are "Hot Swappable" to ease maintenance with replacement modules recovering immediately without further configuration.
Each CBR module performs adaptation of the incoming bit stream using AAL.1 to segment it into ATM cells. At the far end, the bit stream in reassembled, again using AAL.1. End to end timing is maintained through the use of adaptive clocking and jitter attenuation.
Management and configuration of the CBR Module is achieved via the simple menu driven user interface and may be monitored using SNMP Traps.
