Voice and Data Integration between a Central Office and a Remote Office using ATM

In this application the remote office is linked into the central office for all of its communications needs: e.g. voice, corporate data network and Internet access.

The Metrodata Access Processor combines these applications into a single WAN link.

ATM is a convenient technology for combining these different services as it can guarantee bandwidth and prioritize individual applications.

Fan out from the central office is over an E3 ATM connection in order to minimise costs.

This same network topology can be used to support a number of remote offices.
