Interfacing satellite modulators and demodulators to user equipment can be a problem. Click on the relevant link below to find out how Metrodata can help interface to your satellite modem:
- Interfacing EIA530/TTL/RS422 satellite modems
- Interfacing HSSI/ECL satellite modems
- Interfacing G.703/coax satellite modems
- Interfacing ASI satellite modems
Whilst EIA530, HSSI and ASI are Serial in nature and can support flexible data rates, i.e. 1bps increments, on the satellite modem, G.703/coax satellite modems support only fixed "Telco" rates such as T1, E1, E2, E3, DS-3 and STS-1.
Of these interfaces, the 2 most commonly used in data applications are EIA530 and HSSI.
ASI is primarily used for Video Broadcast and Distribution
G.703/COAX Interface is used primarily for voice trunks and broadcast backbones, although occasionally it is used as an interface for ISP backbones (generally for Carriers rather than ISPs as its fixed rates means less flexibility).
