Interfacing Serial Encrypters to Leased Lines

Close

The best method of connecting a serial encrypter to a leased line depends on the data rate.

Metrodata can provide a variety of products that operate at fixed rates such as Nx64kbps, E1, E2, E3, DS3 and OC-3 / STM-1 that  provide conversion from serial interfaces (e.g. EIA530, HSSI, X.21, RS449, V.36, V.35) to G.703/COAX/BNC or fiber.

Metrodata also provide solutions to work at flexible or "odd" data rates such as 9.123Mbps or 266.67Kbps to G.703 or fiber.

Choose the example below which most closely matches your application:

  • Fixed rate conversion at 2.048Mbps from EIA530 serial encrypter to E1 leased line - DC1000, FM4000
  • Fixed rate conversion at Nx64kbps rate 1536kbps from EIA530 serial encrypter to E1 leased line - DC3000, FM4000
  • Fixed rate conversion at 34.368Mbps from HSSI serial encrypter to E3 leased line - DC3445, FM4900
  • Fixed rate conversion at 44.736Mbps from HSSI serial encrypter to clear channel DS3 leased line - DC3445, FM4950
  • Fixed rate conversion at 51.84Mbps from HSSI serial encrypter to OC-3 leased line - AP3000
  • Flexible rate conversion, e.g. 23.456Mbps transmit, 12.345Mbps receive, from HSSI serial encrypter to DS3 leased line - AP3000
  • Flexible rate conversion, e.g. 75Mbps transmit, 62Mbps receive, from HSSI serial encrypter to OC-3 leased line - AP3000
