Satellite Applications

We understand the applications involved in Satcoms, and supply many features as standard that are specific to Satellite.

ATM Networking

Metrodata are alone in providing rate adaption, interface conversion and full end-to-end (even via satellite) ATM solutions.

LAN Extension

Our ethernet extenders offer a variety of features from ethernet extension/connection over a wide area network without the need for routers, low cost SDH access point over E1/ E3/DS-3/ Metro Ethernet, transmission of LAN frames over satellite via HSSI or LVDs.

Space & Defence Networks

Applications and requirements can range from low-bandwidth bi-directional, secure voice communications to high data rate broadcast imagery. Add this to legacy TDM Networks, existing Trunk, Bulk Encryption Devices and emerging technologies the Access Point must be highly flexible in bitrate and mode of operation, whilst being scalable enough to support future capabilities.

Federal Solutions

Federal applications and requirements can range from low bandwidth bi-directional secure voice communications, to high data rate broadcast imagery from the new generation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles such as Global Hawk, Combine this with legacy TDM Networks, existing Trunk and Bulk Encryption devices, then system Engineering becomes an interesting challenge.

Fibre Conversion

Our fibre converters offer conversion to singlemode short haul fibre, singlemode long haul fibre and multimode fibre via an E1 G703 BNC/RJ45 interface, STM-1/OC-3 interface or multimode interface.

System Integration

Most data equipment these days has some form of 'Standard' connectors and data rates . Fine, until you wish to interconnect various types of equipment together and to network services, which could be LAN, MAN or WAN, and probably at much higher data rates.

Interface Conversion

If you need to extend the connection distance on-site between co-located data or satellite equipment - Metrodata Interface Extenders will help and potentially save large capital costs.

Service Provision

SP services when rolled out to users invariably use a different interface and/or medium to that on customer premises and CPE. Services need to be supplied to the users requirements - so if it's X21 at 2Mbit/s, HSSI at 34Mbit/s, ATM at 45bit/s, Multimode fibre not singlemode, coaxial not RJ45, and so on - the list is endless, then you need to be able to do it.

Wireless Applications

Metrodata's wealth of experience interconnecting carrier services to all types of customer Premise equipment (CPE) interfaces has been applied to the wireless arena to ensure you will only have solutions to your challenges. Speeds from n*64kbit/s up to 622 Mbit/s via fibre or copper into X21, V35, HSSI and ATM are all possible.

Integrating PBX, Router and LAN's within a Wide Area corporate resource is made easier and more cost-effective by careful selection of network services and the associated connections to your on-premise equipment.
